This training program is designed for both novice and experienced learners who may be expected to perform basic rigging procedures while performing their daily duties.
It also makes good business sense that employees who are expected to supervise these related activities should know what the correct procedures are so that they are competent to identify good, bad, safe or unsafe practices during the course of their supervision day / shift.

Module 2: Basic Rigging Practices Legislation
  • Identify the relevant legislation applicable to safe lifting

  • Explain the employer’s responsibilities

  • Explain the employee’s responsibilities


Module 3: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Identify what personal protective equipment is

  • Explain why an employee should wear PPE

  • Explain how to care for certain PPE


Module 4: Basic Rigging Communication and Load Recognition
  • Explain the reason for effective communication during lifting operations

  • List the different communication methods

  • Demonstrate the standard communication hand signals

  • Identify the different load recognition symbols


Module 5: Basic Slinging
  • Explain the general safety aspects related to basic slinging

  • Explain the safety aspects related to different slinging equipment

  • Demonstrate the different slinging techniques


Module 6: Housekeeping
  • Explain what housekeeping is

  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages

  • Explain how to clean and store the different lifting equipment


Module 7: Working Attitude
